What is your SLA?
Until the public beta period is complete, we do not have any SLA available.
Will you offer me a trial?
Not at this time. Right now, sales of the KVM product is necessary in order to facilitate further development.
What distributions do you offer?
You may run any x86/x86_64 compatible operating system that you possess the legal entitlement to run on our service.
Is _______________ allowed?
Most likely yes. A few things are not allowed, read our Acceptable Use Policy. In short: as long as it's legal, it's probably allowed.
What hardware does RapidKVM use?
RapidKVM uses servers from Supermicro (storage backend) and SGI (compute nodes).Can I upgrade my service later?
Yes. Just open a trouble ticket, but you will have to boot your server into a LiveCD such as finnix to grow the disk filesystem.
Do you provide backups?
Backups are your responsibility. We use RAID-1 or RAID-10 on all storage servers, but cannot guarantee their reliability.
Can I get a different OS installed?
Yes, just mount the appropriate ISO and set your VPS to boot from CD-ROM then shut it off and start it again to adjust the running configuration.
How do I cancel my account?
Cancelling your account is quite simple. Since you pay in advance for service, just do not pay for the next month of service, and your account will be closed.
Can I get additional IPs?
Yes. All VPSes include a static IP. If you need additional IPs, open a support ticket and explain why it is needed. Additional IPs are $1/month.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We use PayPal and Google Checkout.
Through PayPal and Google Checkout, you can pay with a VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover card, or alternatively an e-check.
Other forms of payment can be arranged, just open a trouble ticket.
Can I run an IRC server on my VPS?
Yes.
What can I do with a virtual server?
Anything you can do with a dedicated server. See Why RapidXen? for a more detailed explanation.
How many VPS share a host?
On average, 20 VPSes are on a host. This is much better than most VPS providers which load up to 100 VPS on a machine.
